The 10 Most Adventurous Trekking Routes of the Char Dham Yatra

The world knows Char Dham is a pilgrimage tour, but if you have a passion for adventure along with pilgrimage touring/ religious tourism then here you will get plenty of opportunities. There are 10 very exciting trekking routes towards Kedarnath. Apart from this, all the pilgrims and tourists who travel to the Char Dham should have knowledge of these 10 treks of so that these can be used at the time of disasters and natural calamities.

Gaurikund Kedarnath Trek

After the natural disaster, a new walking trek had to be started from Gaurikund towards Kedarnath on the pedestrian route from Rambada. After the calamity of the year 2013, the old walking trek got demolished, after which a new route towards Kedarnath was prepared by constructing a bridge in Rambada connecting Lincholi.

This pedestrian route is 16 kilometres long. This route is the common trekking route to Kedarnath. Earlier, from Rambada, from the right side of Mandakini, through Devdarshini, it was reached to Kedarnath. After the natural disaster, Kedarnath can now be reached from the left hand side bank of Mandakini by travelling through Lincholi.

Adventure trekkers and enthusiasts travel to Gandhi Sarovar and Vasukital too after visiting Kedarnath. Located 8 kilometres away from Kedarnath Dham, there is a very beautiful lake, where you can get many medicinal herbs, including the Brahmakamal.

This trek starts from Kedarnath. Kedarnath can be reached by a walking trek of 6 kilometres and there after taking the 2 kilometres slope route, you can reach up to Vasukital. Vasuki Tal is located at an altitude of about 13,500 feet from the sea level. This 16 kilometres trek can be completed within one day trip also.

Sirsi-Triyuginarayan
Sirsi to Triyuginarayan Trek

The Sirsi-Triyuginarayan trek is one of the most beautiful trek among the many treks here. The journey of the trek begins with sirsi, which takes you through the Jhanditop, Kholi and then the Trijugikhark. Here, the journey to Kedarnath Dham is completed while travelling through the Triguninarayan. This trek is also an alternative route which has been improved by the Forest Department.

Tungnath-Chopta-Ransi
Beginning with Chopta, you can enjoy in full green grass trek, also can have a delightful view of wildlife of the Himalayan Biodiversity. Chopta-Tungnath is also been famous as Mini Switzerland. The trek starts with Chaupta. The little velvet meadows of Chopta are surrounded to all four sides by oysters, Karanj, Cedar and Kelp trees. While travelling through Chopta towards Pali meadows the first step of the trek is finished in Thauli. While travelling through Thauli, there is beautiful Bisudital. While travelling through Bisudital towards Bantauli we can reach Ransi. This trek is also famously known as Panchkedar trek.

Ransi- Manani Trek
Ransi to Manani Trek

This trek starts from Ransi village of Kedarghati. Manani meadows is also called as Mini Valley of Flowers. Hundreds of varieties of flowers are found here, just like the valley of flowers. This place can be reached by travelling through Ransi. There is a very beautiful and charismatic Rankeshwari temple at Ransi.

This route is also an alternative route to Kedarnath. There are dozens of Himalayan meadows on this route. Travelling through the northern of the Himalayas through this trek is an exciting experience in itself.

Tal-Bantauli-Ransi Trek
Ransi can be reached by taking routes from Bisudital through Bantauli. This track is also known as Panchkedar trek. The Panchkedar trek from Kalpeshwar-Rudranath-Tunganath-Madamheshwar-Kedarnath, ends at Kedarnath. From this trek, one route from Bantauli leaves for Madamheshwar.

Ghuttu Panwali Trek

This trek has been considered as one of the most beautiful treks of the Central Himalayas. Passing through this trek you can have a delightful view of the hills of Himachal Pradesh, as well as the Kumaon Himalaya.

This trek connects Bhilangna valley to Mandakini valley. While travelling through these two valleys, you can have the nice time knowing the culture, traditions and mythological beliefs, with many mysteries of the Himalayas.

Triyuginarayan-Kedarnath
This trek can be completed in one day. The track is almost 22 kilometres in length. It is also an alternative route to Kedarnath. This beautiful trek passes through the Vasukital. During the calamity of the year 2013, people reached to Triyuginarayan after several days, through this trek only. Triyuginarayan is a very beautiful village.

Chaimasi to Kedarnath
From Kham through Gaurikund, this route takes you to Lincholi and finally to Kedarnath. On the way to this route, there is beautiful Kham meadows. A night stay can be done here during the journey. This is a beautiful and safe route. This trekking route consists of thick forests and during the rainy season, the stroll through the clouds gives you an exciting feeling.

Jaal -Chaumasee- Simtauli Trek

This pedestrian route which is about 25 to 28 kilometres long, is the alternative route to Kedarnath. The beautiful Kham meadows are the biggest attraction of this trekking route.

Trekkers begin their trekking tour from Chaumasee towards Kedarnath. From this trek route many dare devil trekkers still go now a day, to Kedarnath. This trekking route is very exciting for adventure enthusiasts.
